Did you know that Assad is the biggest killer of Syrian civilians?

Assad regime forces were responsible for over 95% of all civilian violent deaths recorded by the Violations Documentation Center in Syria since March 2011. Even in Raqqa province, stronghold of of the murderous Islamic State terror organisation, over seven times as many civilians were confirmed killed by Assad air strikes as were killed by ISIS, according to VDC figures for 2014.

Did you know that Assad has broken multiple UN resolutions?

Since UN Security Council Resolution 2118 was passed in 2013, Assad has continued to use chemical weapons. Evidence of his chlorine bomb attacks against civilian areas has been confirmed to the Security Council by the OPCW, the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons. And since Resolution 2139 was passed in 2014, Assad has continued to use barrel bombs, artillery, and starvation sieges against civilians. Monthly reports of these deadly violations have been presented to the Security Council by the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, yet Assad has not had to pay any price, sheltered as he is by the vetoes of Russia and China.

Did you know that thousands have been killed in regime prisons?

In 2014 the Syrian defector ‘Caesar’ smuggled out 55,000 photographs documenting the torture and murder of more than 11,000 men, women, and children in the Damascus area between 2011 and 2013, evidence of systematic criminality by the regime. Some of these images have been exhibited at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. Cameron Hudson, director of the museum’s center for the prevention of genocide, described the pictures as more extreme than anything else shown there.
